Booking Terms and Conditions information
March 22nd 2026 to March 29th.
1. Introduction
Welcome to JP Tours. We are delighted to invite you on this exclusive small-group journey along Japan’s UNESCO-listed Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. By booking, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making your booking.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 To secure your place, a non-refundable deposit of $1,650 (inc GST) per person is required at the time of booking.
2.2 The remaining balance will be paid in two equal instalments:
First instalment due October 1, 2025
Final instalment due January 15, 2026
2.3 You will receive invoices when payments are due.
2.4 Prices are subject to change without notice due to alterations from third-party operators or currency exchange fluctuations.
3. Group Size and Accommodation
3.1 This tour is strictly limited to 12 guests. Places are secured on a first-booked, first-confirmed basis.
3.2 Prices are based on twin-share accommodation. A single room upgrade is available in Osaka and Kyoto only, at a premium of $500, subject to availability.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
4.1 All payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable. It is your responsibility to obtain comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
4.2 In the event the tour must be cancelled by JP Tours due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund may be provided.
4.3 If the tour is cancelled due to a pandemic, natural disaster, or other event beyond our control, all monies paid are non-refundable and should be claimed via your travel insurance.
4.4 All cancellations by you must be made in writing.
5. Changes to Itinerary
5.1 We reserve the right to amend the itinerary due to weather, operational requirements, or other circumstances beyond our control.
5.2 Significant changes will be communicated to you as soon as possible.
5.3 Requests for changes to your booking must be made in writing and are subject to availability and potential service provider fees.
6. Travel Insurance
6.1 Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all participants.
6.2 Your policy should include coverage for medical expenses, personal injury, trip cancellation, lost property, and any activities listed in the itinerary.
6.3 We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking.
7. Responsibilities of Participants
7.1 You are responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport, required visas, and any necessary vaccinations.
7.2 JP Tours is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage to you or your property during the tour.
7.3 You may be removed from the tour, at your own expense, for behaviour that jeopardises the safety, enjoyment, or comfort of other guests, or that damages the reputation of JP Tours.
8. Health and Safety
8.1 You must disclose any medical conditions or dietary requirements at the time of booking.
8.2 You must inform us immediately if new medical conditions arise between booking and departure.
8.3 You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by guides and staff throughout the journey.
9. Liability
9.1 JP Tours is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the tour.
9.2 We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or itinerary changes caused by circumstances beyond our control.
10. Waiver and Documentation
10.1 All participants must sign and return the Liability Waiver no later than 30 days prior to departure. This form will be sent with your final payment invoice.
10.2 Failure to return the waiver by the deadline may result in cancellation of your booking without refund.
11. Complaints
11.1 Any concerns during the tour should be raised immediately with your guide so they can be addressed promptly.
11.2 If unresolved, please submit your complaint in writing within 7 days of the tour’s conclusion.
12. Amendments
JP Tours reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website.
