Join Kyoshi Squizzy on Tan Kyu Shin’s first group tour covering training in Mainland Japan, then onto Okinawa.
Join us on a Traditional Karate & Kobudo adventure across Japan & Okinawa. Blending Budo with cultural exploration.
The Tan Kyu Shin tour takes us from vibrant centre of Osaka, training Karate, then onto every Martial Artists dream destination... Okinawa.
Together, we’ll train in traditional dojos, immerse ourselves in history, and experience the sights, tastes, and spirit of Japan, together as a Dojo community.

City - by - City Itinerary
Arrive Osaka - 4 nights
Arrive at Osaka and transfer directly to Hotel by bus
2 karate sessions in Osaka.
Explore all Osaka & Kansai has to offer! Shopping, culture, night-life, history and crazy-ness.
Potential Day trips available - Himeji, Arima Onsen, Minho Falls.
Our plan in Osaka is to show first timers how to get around the transport network, and give you a chance to explore.
From Osaka to Naha - 2 nights
Time to get back on the Plane and head to the traditional home of Martial Arts in Japan, Okinawa.
We will use the Karate Kaikan as our training base in Naha & Shuri with 2 sessions onsite.
Explore the Karate Museum at the Kaikan.
We will try to have some free time for self exploration…. If we can find a 25th hour in the day.
Naha to Nago overnight road trip.
Join us on our Okinawa overnight ADVENTURE.
Heading north on our bus trip, visiting Yomitan Pottery Villiage on our way to the coastal town of Nago.
Here we will visit the amazing Okinawan Kenpo dojo for some Kobudo.
After spending the night in a beachside hotel, don’t miss Kyoshi’s training session on the beach, before we head back to Naha for 2 more nights and our second session at the Kaikan.
The tour group will leave from Naha to begin the trip back to Australia, flying through Osaka.

Japan & Okinawa - What happens next?
*if you are even thinking about participating, get onto your passport info now. You need to have min 6 months validity upon arrival in Japan.
TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN and then Train some more.
We cover some distance on tour, and there is a heap of training, not always on mat’s. So the more prepared you can be the more fun we’ll all have together.
March ‘27 - Bookings will open and deposit due (the dep is normally around $1650 p.p) Bookings will be via a web portal
May‘27 - Airfare component balance due
July‘27 - Final payment due
Kyoshi will organise heaps of activities leading up to the trip to help get you all set.
